The State University VOice Network (SUVON) links the telephone systems of 75 college or university campuses and learning centers throughout Indiana. It is available around the clock to campus faculty and staff for educational and business telephoning. SUVON may not be used for personal calls.
To place a call on SUVON, you must first dial 81, an access code that connects your telephone to the SUVON switch. Next dial 1+area code+seven-digit campus telephone number. Click the link below, for a guide that shows the area codes and prefix numbers for each location. If you don't know the extension number, you can dial the campus operator for information. In a few cases, your call will go directly to the campus switchboard, and the operator will extend your call.
A secondary purpose of SUVON is the ability to call off of the network in some cities. To do so, simply dial your 81 SUVON access number, then dial 1+ the long-distance telephone number (including area code). If the number is available via SUVON, your call will go through. If the location is NOT available via SUVON, you will hear a message to that effect.
