When can I get my school, department, or office site developed?
The IUS Web Redesign Project is following a priority list that has been approved by the IUS Administrative Council. This systematic sweep through all of the campus pages will take months of work. We will be posting this list on our Web Development site and showing our progress there. Academic programs are receiving first priority, then campus offices. If you have any questions call Lee Staton in IT-Media Services at 941-2424.

What if my school, department, or office doesn't have a site and there is information that needs to be available right away?
For new academic programs that have an immediate need to get their info up on the web, we can provide assistance to get that info posted in a simplified fashion. At a later date your site would be fully developed by the web team to allow more functional features.

How will my new site be updated? Do I need to know HTML to update my site?
When we launch your new site, we hand over most updating responsibilities to you. Editing your content will be very much like using Microsoft Word because we use a content management program called eMPower. With this program, you will not need to know HTML or web design. Media Services will provide one-on-one training to you or someone in your department. Contact Jeff Gillenwater at 941-2259 for more information.

Can I have scrolling or blinking text on my site?
While such animated items may look neat, they usually denote flash with no substance to the web visitor. They also may slow down the loading of your pages. The worst problem, however, is the impact they may have on accessibility. As a state institution, IUS follows strict Section 508 guidelines that make our site accessible to users that are blind, deaf, or colorblind. Every site created by the IUS web tem is tested using a program called Bobby, and our sites MUST achieve Bobby's Priority 1 rating.
